Law Clerk Program EDC regularly accepts qualified law students for its Law Clerk Program, providing an opportunity to practice public interest law at EDC’s Santa Barbara, California offices. Responsibilities: Law clerks conduct legal research, draft memos and pleadings, and participate in administrative advocacy. Supervising attorneys involve students in every aspect of actual cases, including client contact. There may be an opportunity to observe court or other proceedings during a student’s tenure. Compensation: 1) None when class credit is received. 2) Willing to aid in obtaining summer public interest work-study funding, school work study, or to discuss stipends. 3) Depending on availability, aid provided to secure free housing.
