WHAT
Join EDC for our first-annual Ride on the Wild Side Bike Event.  Ride at your own pace or along with a knowledgeable guide and visit some of the local landscapes that EDC has fought to preserve and protect.  With two lengths of ride to choose from, the event is suitable for families, casual riders, and serious cyclists.  The ride will be followed by a celebration in the EDC courtyard with food, beverages, a raffle, and live music.  Registration will take place through Active.com.

Enjoy beautiful mountain and ocean views while visiting some of the local landscapes EDC has worked to protect. All levels of cyclists are welcome. The 10-mile ride leaves from EDC's downtown office, taking riders along the beach front to Douglas Family Preserve and back. The 39-mile ride follows a bike path to Goleta Beach, stopping at Haskells Beach, and returns to EDC. Stops offer info on each site's history and importance. The ride is followed by a fiesta in the EDC courtyard.

WHERE
There will be three routes of different lengths for you to chose from. All routes will start at finish at the Environmental Defense Center's office at 906 Garden Street in downtown Santa Barbara.

COSt
$45/Adult, $35/Student, $20/Child before 9/16/10 and an additional $5 thereafter.
Registration fee includes a T-shirt, easy to follow course directions, rest stops with water and snacks, entry to post-race lunch, and one lunch and two drink tickets.

VOLUNTEER
We will be looking for volunteers to assist in a number of ways including preparation in the weeks leading up to the event and the day of. Opportunities may include helping advertise the event, sign making, assisting with registration, and logistics with food and beverages at the celebration after the ride.

Fundraise
Please consider making a minimum donation of $25 to EDC. Or, become a fundraiser through Active.com. For every $100 you raise you will earn a ticket, entering you into our grand prize drawing!
